What Is Clear Cutting?

Clear cutting involves cutting trees on acreage for sale as timber or pulp. The timber is used to build homes, furniture, etc and the pulp is used to make paper and paper products.

What Is Thinning?

Thinning involves cutting randomly selected trees in an area in order to reduce the risk of disease, increase water absorption at the tree root, and reduce the risk of forest fire which all promote a healthy forest.

What Happens to the Land After the Trees Are Cut?

There are many different reasons to clear cut a track of land.

MEET THE TEAM

Earnest Drake Jr. and Robert Drake have more than 50 years of combined  logging experience and have worked as a team in Virginia since the business began.  

Earnest Drake Jr.

Earnest learned logging from his father. He is an expert machine operator and mechanic and is the person who can answer any question you have about the logging industry.

Robert Drake

Robert also learned logging from his father. He is an expert with a chainsaw, operates the machines, and is a mechanic. His knowledge of forestry and planning is an advantage.
